Its production cost is much lower than that of stamped steel, and loudspeaker manufacturers are increasingly developing product lines utilizing this material due to its low manufacturing cost, lighter weight, resonance properties, and stiffness.
Full-range speakers – This class of speakers is responsible for most of the sound reproduction in your car’s audio system. Traditionally, a full-range speaker is a single speaker that reproduces all frequencies within the spectrum of 20 Hertz (Hz) to 20 Kilohertz (kHz). In today’s car audio, the full-range speaker class also includes both coaxial speakers and component speaker systems.
Coaxial (Full-Range) Speakers – This is a speaker system in which multiple speakers project sound from the same axis. Basically, a tweeter or speaker is mounted over the woofer coil. The most common types of coaxial speakers are 2-way (2-speaker) and 3-way (3-speaker) combinations. A 2-way system contains a woofer to reproduce the lower frequencies and a tweeter to reproduce the higher frequencies. In the 3-way system, an additional speaker is added to reproduce the midrange and mid-high frequencies. While this setup is generally better than a single full-range speaker, the tweeter mounted over the woofer interferes with the sound output of the latter.
